JFBB ale was a hit, lighter than lager with a great taste. Kids loved the chicken fingers and mozzarella sticks, hubby and I loved the burrito station near the window bar area where we had the best loaded nachos and tender pork burrito- tons of fixins like guacamole, corn salsa. Inside large cafeteria with healthy options to everything in between. #3 Food options- Outdoor grill w/ burgers, dogs, chick sandwiches- fire pit. We skiied at Big Boulder I had to work on class stuff, so I set up my laptop next to the fireplace near the bar that had huge windows overlooking the slopes- it was perfect! #2 Lodges- both resorts have outstanding facilities- fireplaces, bars, free wifi (that is not available at Elk or Sno Mt.), wonderful food/beverage options. #1 The price- where can you ski at 2 resorts from 8 am to 10 pm for such a reasonable price? no worries about 1/2 day times, same price all day as some of 1/2 price deals elsewhere I grew up near the Poconos so I have skiied both resorts countless times, but the most recent trip with my family warranted a good review. Hence, if you like paying roughly $10.00 a run down the mountain and wait 178 minutes out of 180 minutes in line, than go to Big Boulder. My recommendation is go to a mountain that limits the amount of people and takes a reservation. No wonder why the lines were so long, the people that weren't supposed to be on the mountain yet were impeding on our time. However, this was at 3:40 pm, 20 minutes before their sessions started and 20 minutes before my session ended. She asked if anyone with a 4 pm-7 pm ticket was here, at the top of the mountain in line and about half of each 7 lines screamed yes. The icing on the cake was when I was at the top of the mountain and the employees said anyone with a 4 pm ticket this will be your last run. I continued with my daughter and we enjoyed our time together. I gave up and said Its a shame that no one is willing to speak to me or address my concern. He said he does have a radio but he wont contact him. I said does he have a radio and I can meet him at the base of the mountain. I asked if Mark was in that day and he said yes he is. I was told by him I could email Mark the GM if I had an issue. Useless, conversation with no regard to make matters right or answer any questions. I unfortunately, was put in touch with Ted (customer relations). As my daughter and I were in line I decided to call management to see why things were so different than the last time we were there. They continue to sell tickets no matter how many people are on the mountain. The poor kid sat around in the lodge for 3 hours when all he wanted to do was tube. My son after the first run said he didnt even want to wait in line anymore and sat in the lodge until my daughter and I finished at 4 pm. In essence we sat in line at the top of the mountain for 178 minutes and tubed for 1 minute and 40 seconds. We went down the mountain a total of 4 times in 3 hours. This time I brought my daughter and my son for the second time. I decided to give the tubing experience another shot since I have loved this mountain since I was a child. Therefore, whenever a new batch of people paid we had to wait each and every time, which was absurd. It would have been more runs but for some reason, someone on the management team had a bright idea of allowing the new tubing people on the mountain to walk across where the people coming down the mountain were coming to a stop. We finally got on the mountain at 10:33 am and enjoyed maybe 10 runs in 2 and a half hours. I mind you this was during the holiday weekend. There was one person at the window at 10:00 am to take payments for the session. However, I took my son tubing for the 10 am -1 pm session during the holiday weekend of MLK weekend. I have been going to Big Boulder for almost 40 years. I would never recommend tubing at this mountain.
